Mob protests death of pregnant woman, child

Lucknow, Sep 30 (UNI) A mob today agitated outside a private hospital and blocked the Delhi-Saharanpur highway, following the death of a pregnant woman during the time of delivery in Baghpat city of Uttar Pradesh.

Maya (30), hailing from Idgah of Kotwali (city) area, was admitted to hospital late last night.

Early this morning, she died along with the infant during delivery, police said.

Enraged over the incident, the mob staged a protest alleging laxity on the part of doctors led to their death.

The mob was, however, convinced after senior officials reached the spot.

Investigation was on.
