Crime Branch to investigate adulterated blood incident in J&K

Srinagar, Sep 30 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has asked the Crime Branch to investigate the alleged supply of adulterated blood to patients in Lala Ded (women) hospital.

The Secretary Health and Medical Education Kulbushan Jandial said the CB has been asked to investigate the entire episode so that those involved in the racket are punished for playing with the lives of the people.

Mr Jandial said after completing the departmental inquiry, two employees--one Laboratory Technician and one Nursing Orderly-- were suspended after they were found involved in the racket.

He said five other employees have been transferred from the hospital.

Meanwhile, he said the Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar has been asked to monitor such things in future by assigning the responsibility to a senior doctor to avoid such incidents.
