Stamps scam: Court defers hearing to Oct 23

Kolhapur, Sep 29 (UNI) District Sessions Judge S P Kulkarani today deferred the hearing into a fake stamps paper case, involving prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi, to October 23.

Telgi and 17 others were brought here from Pune's Yerawada Jail and produced before the court here.

When the court asked Telgi whether he wanted to say anything, he replied that his lawyer Dhananjay Patade would make a statement on his behalf.

Adv Patade, in his submission, said Telgi had already been sentenced for fake stamps case and in the law, there was no provision of double punishment in a case.

Then, the court asked Mr Patade to submit his say before the court and posted the hearing to October 23.
