Mobiles to be banned in schools, colleges from Oct 5
Bangalore, Sep 29 (UNI) The Karnataka Government will ban the use of mobile phones in schools and colleges from October 5.
Talking to newspersons here today, Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj Horatti said a government order to this effect would be issued shortly. The ban would also cover the teaching faculty.
This measure comes in the wake of several studies, which pointed out the adverse effect of radiation from mobile phones on the IQ level of children.
He said there was a representation from mobile phone manufacturers saying the use of cell phones would do no harm to the children.
However, Mr Horatti said, the goverment would go ahead with the ban, he said.
