Husband sentenced to eight years RI for killing wife

Rourkela, Sep 29 (UNI) A man was sentenced to eight-year rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 for killing his wife.

Additional District Judge (First Track) Soubhan Kumar Das today convicted Soma Prusty of Railway Colony for murdering his wife Jasmin Samad and sentenced him to eight-year rigorous imprisonment.

The accused was also imposed a fine of Rs 5000 and defaulting which he would have to undergo another six-month imprisonment.

According to the prosecution, on the night of May two last year, Soma Prusty killed his wife Jasmin.

In all, eight prosecution witnesses were examined in the case.
