Haryana Cong hails extension of NREGA

Chandigarh, Sep 29 (UNI) The Haryana Congress today welcomed the decision of the UPA government to extend the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) to the entire country.

In a resolution, the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) congratulated UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for this ''momentous'' decision.

''It is fulfilment of another key promise made by the Congress in its manifesto and an element of the common minimum programme of the UPA,'' she said.

HPCC chief Phool Chand Mullana asked the rank and file of the party to explain to the villagers in Haryana the salient features of the Act so that they can get maximum benefit.
