100 kg poppy straw, charas seized in Kashmir
Srinagar, Sep 29: Jammu and Kashmir police has seized 100 kg of poppy straw in south Kashmir during a search operation, a police spokesman said.
The police conducted a search operation at village Tengpuna in Pulwama district of south Kashmir after receiving information about some smugglers selling poppy straw.
During the operation, the police seized one quintal of banned poppy straw along with charas and also destroyed its cultivation over thousands of acres of land in south Kashmir during the past six months.
About two dozen smugglers were arrested by the police during the period.
