'Work on AIIMS new campus in Bhubaneswar to begin from Jan'

New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) Union Health Minister A Ramdoss today assured Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik that the work on the new campus of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will start in Bhubaneswar.

This assurance was given to the Chief Minister during a meeting with Dr Ramdoss here, a government of Orissa statement said.

Mr Patnaik requested the Minister to open a paediatric centre at Berhampur for treatment of children affected by HIV/AIDS.

He also pressed for installation of CD-4 machines in the medical colleges at Cuttack, Sambalpur and Berhampur and requested the Minister to sanction state-of the art machines such as Linear Accelerator for the Cancer hospital at Cuttack.

He also discussed with Mr Ramdoss about possibilities of opening new nursing colleges in different parts of the state on a private-public partnership basis, the statement said.
