Vodafone Essar, RIM launches BlackBerry Smartphones
New Delhi, Sept 28 (UNI) To meet the diversified needs of the Indian customers, Vodafone Essar and Research in Motion (RIM) today unveiled the BlackBerry Curve 8310 and BlackBerry 8820 in the country.
The BlackBerry Curve 8310 is a feature-rich multimedia and GPS-enabled smartphone, while BlackBerry 8820 is the first dual-mode handset, combining EDGE, GPRS, GSM cellular network and Wi-Fi connectivity with added GPS support.
Through the built-in GPS, the two smartphones can pinpoint their locations and also provide ''out-of-the-box'' support for a wide variety of location-based applications and services such as Google Map.
Vodafone Essar Operations Director Sanjoy Mukherji said, ''We are thrilled to offer our customers the sleek new BlackBerry smartphones uniquely designed to suit their business and personal needs.'' The Blackberry Curve 8310 is exclusively available on the Vodafone network.
