Policemen among several wounded in brick batting in UP

Lucknow, Sep 28 (UNI) Scores of people, including some policemen, were seriously injured after members of two communities clashed during the 'Ramayan Path' at a temple in Achnera area of the Taj city today.

A dispute related to loudspeakers during the 'Ramayan Path' at a Devi temple had turned violent yesterday evening.

However, senior officials reached the spot on time and brought the situation under control.

The dispute again snowballed into a full-fledged clash today, in which several persons from both the sides were severely wounded after the rival groups resorted to pelting stones at each other.

Police fired in the air, to disperse the mob injuring many people, including some cops.

Police in strength had been deployed to prevent fresh violence.

Meanwhile, some accused had been arrested.
