Jammu, Sep 28 (UNI) At least six people, including a police officer, got injured today during fresh clashes between two groups in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to sources, the situation got tensed in the town, when one of the people got injured by a shooting brick inside the Jama Masjid, where the Friday 'Namaz' was being offered.
''Soon after the incident, a group of people gathered outside the mosque and started protesting against the incident,'' official sources told UNI.
However, protestors went berserk and damaged some of the shops in the area. A police party rushed to the spot and opened fire in the air to disperse the mob.
''The police and administration reached the spot and pacified situation, which was out of the control,'' sources added.
Meanwhile, sources further said that Poonch Tehsildar Charanjit Singh, sub-inspector M A Khan, two jawans and two civilians got injured during the clash.
