Orissa CM urges Shinde for extension of electrification prog

New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today met Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and pressed for inclusion of all the 30 districts of the state in the Village Electrification Programme this year.

Only four disticts of the state are at present covered under the Rajiv Gandhi Vidyutikaran Yojana.

Mr Shinde informed the CM that the matter will be placed before the Union Cabinet and it may be possible to sanction projects for the entire state within the next two to three months.

Mr Patnaik also urged the Minister to expedite the setting up of an ultra mega power plant within the state.

UNI
