MP Cong blowing Scindia case out of proportion: BJP

Bhopal, Sep 28 (UNI) The ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh today alleged that the Congress was unnecessarily blowing the registering of case against Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia out of proportion.

State BJP spokesperson Uma Shankar Gupta told reporters here today that police have registered cases against Mr Scindia as well as Rashtriya Samanata Dal MLA Harivallabh Shukla.

He said the BJP has not intervened in the matter nor did it intend to do so.

Mr Gupta said he had been informed that Congressmen had threatened Mr Shukla and his son and registered three cases against them.

He said Mr Shukla, who represents Pohri assembly segment in Shivpuri, waited for Mr Scindia for two-and-half hours for the foundation laying ceremony of a road being constructed under the PMGSY at Naraiyakhedi and Echwara villages.

Supporters of Mr Scindia and Mr Shukla clashed in Pohri area of Shivpuri district on Wednesday after Mr Shukla had inaugurated few road construction works even before the arrival of Mr Scindia.

Police registered cases on complaints from both sides.

Mr Gupta said Mr Scindia preferred to address a public meeting before, instead of going to the foundation laying ceremony despite being late.

On this, Mr Shukla laid the foundation stone of road construction and departed.

He alleged that Mr Scindia's supporters could not digest it and stopped Mr Shukla's vehicle and misbehaved with him.

He pointed out that MLA and MP had their own place in democracy and should not be looked upon with an attitude of monarchy.

The BJP spokesperson alleged that Congressmen arrived from various places in Shivpuri and forced a bandh affecting normal life.
