Kerala Science Congress to focus on Health challenges
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 28 (UNI) The 20th Kerala Science Congress to be held here in January 2008, would focus on ''Kerala's health challenge - emerging and re-emerging infections''.
The Science Congress to be held from January 28 to 31 would be organised by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment with the R&D Centre National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC) and University of Kerala as the nodal agencies, a release said here today.
About 500 scientific papers were expected to be presented and discussed during the Congress. Besides the presentation of papers, invited talks, presentations by experts on the focal theme, poster presentations, exhibition and presentations by the State-level winners of Children Science Congress were included in the Congress.
Young Scientist Award would be given to the best paper in each of the subject areas to encourage young scientific talent. There would be three memorial lectures in honour of P T Bhaskara Panicker, P K Gopalakrishnan and P R Pisharoty.
