Dacoits loot Rs 32 lakh from Rourkela UCO Bank

Rourkela, Sep 28 (UNI) Armed dacoits today looted Rs 32 lakh from the UCO bank located on the main road bazar of the Plant Site Police station area here.

Police said seven armed dacoits entered the bank at around 0930 hrs and looted the money from the strong room.

Rourkela Superintendent of Police Ravikant, DIG P Acharya, along with a forensic team, reached the spot and investigating the matter.

Police teams had been rushed to different places to nab the criminals.

''The culprits must have watched the employees and chosen the time when they would face no resistance,'' a police official said.

The SP said the dacoits appeared to be outsiders as they were speaking Hindi.

He said they pushed all the employees into the bathroom and looted the cash from the strong room.

Immediately after the incident, the police sealed all exit points of the steel city and dispatched force to various locations to nab the criminals.
