Hyderabad, Sep 28 (UNI) Newly appointed Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and Member of Parliament Vundavalli Arunkumr today termed the opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu's claim of providing nine hours free power supply to agricultural sector as 'political drama'.

Mr Arun Kumar, who was recently appointed as in-charge of the party affairs in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, told newspersons why Mr Babu had failed to provide free power during his nine year rule in the state.

He alleged that the TDP government had neglected the agricultural sector and suppressed the agitations by the farmers on inadequate power supply during TDP rule.

He said Chandrababu Naidu had stated that it was now possible to provide free power as the revenues of the state had increased. He asked why the financial position of the state had not in good position during the TDP rule.

He challenged the former Chief Minister to arrange a public forum to discuss the achievements of the Congress government during the last three years and TDP's failure to implement the welfare schemes including free power to farmers during its tenure.

'' The state government besides providing free power to agricultural sector, had not increased power tariff for domestic consumers and provided concessions for industrial sector,'' he added.
