Court okays narco test on SRP jawan

Junagadh, Gujarat, Sep 28 (UNI) A court here granted permission for conducting narco test on Mohammad Iqbal Ansari, who had allegedly shot two SRP jawans in Gadhu village of Maliahatina tehsil in the district.

The incident occurred on September 10 when the SRP jawans returned to their base at Gadhu village after a 'bandobost' duty at Kharwar community's ''Jhund Mela'' in the vicinity.

Ansari, a head constable, allegedly opened fire at his colleagues using his rifle leaving two jawans dead and six others grievously injured.

Ansari managed to escape and was arrested later at the ST bus station here.

On September 18, the police had sought the permission of the Maliahatina court for conducting a narco test on the accused. The court granted the permission yesterday.

Ansari will be taken to Ahmedabad for the test shortly.
