CM lauds polices efforts for smooth conduct of Ganesh immersion

Hyderabad, Sep 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today congratulated the city police for their efforts to ensure smooth conduct of Ganesh immersion on September 25, in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

Interacting with the top brass of police officials of twin cities and Ranga Reddy district at the Secretariat today, Dr Reddy said there was a lot of appreciation to the police, from many corners in the State for the incident-free organisation of the immersion programme.

Cautioning that their job was not over with this, since the festivals of Ramzan, Dassera and the World Military Games were around the corner, he said the police should be more vigilant and take no chances in maintaining law and order.

The Chief Minister advised the police not to charge anyone with heavy fine and quoted a recent suicide case of a motorist who could not pay the amount. Instead, he wanted them to take up counselling and inculcate a sense of discipline among the traffic violators, an official release said.
