Care Hospital begins World Heart Day celebrations

Vijayawada, Sep 28 (UNI) The Care Hospital here began 'World Heart Day' celebrations with a campaign 'team up for healthy hearts', as announced by World Heart Federation (WHF).

During this 11-day programme, the hospital would provide to the general public facilities for heart check, gynaecology check, coronary angiograms, coronary angioplasties, cardio thoracic surgeries and other general surgeries including trauma, Care Medical Director N Murali Krishna said in a press conference this evening.

Dr Krishna said heart disease and stroke were claiming 17.5 million lives each year.

World Heart Day was being observed created to create public awareness on risk factors of heart diseases and stroke and to promote preventive measures.
