Cairn India strikes more oil in Ravva
New Delhi, Sept 28 (UNI) Cairn India today said it has made a new oil find in its 22.5 per cent-owned Ravva field on the Krishna Godavari (KG) basin.
The initial flow is around 1,500 barrels per day, said the official, who did not wish to be named, adding Cairn is yet to inform the Directorate General of Hydrocarbon (DGH) about the find.
The Ravva field produced on average 60,878 barrels of oil and gas in first half of current fiscal. Cairn has embarked on an offshore infill development and exploration drilling programme since October 2006. Production has commenced from three new infill wells and one appraisal well.
Cairn holds 22.5 per cent operating interest in the joint venture. The other partners are ONGC (40 per cent), Videocon (25 per cent) and Ravva Oil (12.5 per cent).
