Brinda demands justice for Rizwanur's family

Kolkata, Sep 28 (UNI) CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat today demanded that justice be meted out to Rizwanur Rehman's family.

Talking to newspersons Ms Karat said she had been to Rizwanur's house.

'' I am sorry for what happened. Two adults from different religions had married conscientiously. We want justice to be done to them, '' she stated.

She informed that she had been fighting for 13 such cases in Haryana also.

Ms Karat further demanded that the culprits involved in Rizwanur's murder be punished. '' This is not only our demand but the demand of West Bengal as a whole. '' Ms Brinda was in the city to attend the Polit Bureau meeting and the three-day Central Committee meeting from tomorrow.
