Sunita Williams makes transit halt in Chennai

Chennai, Sep 27 (UNI) Indian-born US astronaut Sunita Williams today made a brief transit halt at the airport here, before emplaning for Hyderabad to participate in the ongoing 58th International Astronautical Congress.

Ms Williams, who arrived here by a Jet Airways flight from Ahmedabad at 1125 hrs, was escorted to the airport lounge.

After a brief stay, she left the lounge and boarded another Jet Airways flight to Hyderabad at 1150 hrs.

Police made elaborate security arrangements in view of her visit.
