Scribe sustains bullet wound in MP

Betul, MP, Sep 27 (UNI) A young journalist, who is the son of a former Bharatiya Janata Party MLA, has been hospitalised at Nagpur after sustaining a gunshot wound in an attack by unidentified assailants on a two-wheeler.

Mr Bhagwat Singh Patel's son Ashish Singh is the local correspondent of an Uttar Pradesh-based daily newspaper.

''The attack took place last night while the victim was standing outside his residence,'' said Town Inspector R P Agrawal.

Local mediapersons submitted memoranda, to the Collector and Superintendent of Police today, demanding a high-level probe. A bandh would be observed here tomorrow and be supported by all political parties and traders' associations.
