Pawan Hans helicopter crashlands in Kavaratti

Kochi, Sep 27 (UNI) A Pawan Hans helicopter chartered by the Lakshadweep Administration crashlanded at the Kavaratti helipad in the islands today but the three people aboard the chopper were safe, according to information received here by the Coast Guard.

Senior Coast Guard officials told UNI that the helicopter crashed while landing at about 1215 hrs. Two pilots and a technician aboard the plane manged to escape, as per the preliminary information received here.

The helicopter, chartered by the Lakshadweep Administration, is basically used for casualty evacuation, they said.
