Meghalaya to set 102 telephone towers
Shillong, Sept 27 (UNI) In order to improve the rural connectivity, the Meghalaya government has decided to set up more mobile phone towers to cover rural areas of the state and bring it under complete rural mobile telephony.
The decision was taken by the government at a meeting held yesterday chaired by Administrator of Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) Shantanu Consul, an official statement said.
The state government also decided to set up 102 towers to cover the rural areas of Meghalaya to facilitate complete rural mobile telephony in the state.
