Lalu urged to take up Indore-Manmad rail line
Bhopal, Sep 27 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has urged Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to start the construction of Indore-Manmad railway line to provide train facility to the backward tribal districts in Nimar region of the state.
The proposed Indore-Pithampur-Dhamnod- Sendhwa-Sirpur-Dhulia- Malegaon- Manmad line, parallel to Agra-Mumbai national highway, would considerably reduce the distance between Indore and Manmad, Jail and Legislative Affairs Minister Antar Singh Arya said in a letter to Mr Yadav.
Seeking early sanction of the project, Mr Arya recalled that a resolution, passed by the Madhya Pradesh Assembly on March 3, 2006 for construction of the rail line, had already been forwarded to the Railway Board. The railway had already conducted a survey for the line, he added.
