Haryana ropes in pvt personnel in health schemes

Chandigarh, Sep 27 (UNI) The Haryana administration has directed all civil surgeons to involve health personnel of private sector in providing quality health services to the people under various schemes of National Rural Health Mission and "Vikalp" being implemented in the State.

The directive was given by Haryana Commissioner and Secretary (Health) Navraj Sandhu while reviewing the implementation of various health programmes and schemes in a meeting with Civil Surgeons, Principal Medical Officers and other senior officers here today.

The Reproductive and Child Health Programme Phase-II has been sanctioned for Haryana under National Rural Health Mission and its implementation involved an expenditure of Rs 749 crore.

Implementation of " Vikalp" scheme aims at providing public private partnership for providing comprehensive health care in hospitals and Community Health Centres.

Ms Sandhu also directed the health officials to take effective steps to further improve implementation of various health programmes.

Director General Health Services Avinash Sharma also spoke on certain important issues like Right to Information Act, upgradation of Community Health Centres as per Indian Public Health Standard and establishing delivery huts in sub centres in rural areas of the state.
