CPI deplores attack on peaceful demonstrators in Myanmar

New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (CPI) today condemned the attack by military forces on peaceful demonstrators in Myanmar, protesting against the military junta in the country.

According to a CPI release issued here: ''The military junta in Myanmar should read the writing on the wall as the peaceful demonstrators in Myanmar includes Buddhist monks and nuns.'' The release said the government should take a positive stand in support of the fighting people of Myanmar for restoration of democracy and for the release of all political prisoners besides freedom of detained democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi.
