New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) Notwithstanding the snub administered by Janata Dal (Secular) President H D Deve Gowda's by calling off the scheduled meetings with the BJP leadership, the BJP today maintained that its alliance with JD(S) continued and the irritants needed to be sorted out.
Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu, also a Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka, said the BJP had complied with its share of responsibility to its coalition partner in Karnataka and expected its alliance partner to respond and reciprocate. The BJP was totally hopeful of transfer of power, he said.
The BJP in Karnataka was amid the elections to 140 local bodies and the Central leadership would talk to the state leaders to address 'irritants' that had cropped up during the last two days, he said without taking the name of Karnataka Minister, who had made accusations against State Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
He also ruled out mid term elections in the state although there certainly was uncertainty about the elections to Parliament.
