2 Pak infiltrators, soldier among 4 killed

Srinagar, Sep 27 (UNI) Two Pakistani infiltrators and a soldier were among four people killed, while an ultra surrendered in the Jammu and Kashmir overnight, a police spokesman said.

He said a soldier, who was injured in a militant ambush on an army convoy at Sopore yesterday, died in the hospital today.

Security forces killed two more militants at Machil sector today.

With this a total of three infiltrators were killed by the troops after they sneaked into this side from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (POK) yesterday morning under the cover of darkness.

One militant was killed early yesterday, the spokesman said.

Militants kidnapped Ghulam Rubani Awan, a driver and Mushtaq Ahmad from their houses at Pahlipora in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on September 25, he said.

However, bullet-riddled body of Rubani was recovered from nearby field. Mushtaq was let off after torture, he added.

Police has launched a massive hunt to nab the killer, the spokesman said.

He said a Hizbul Mujahideen militant, identified as Anayatullah laid down arms before security forces in Doda district today.

He handed over one AK-47 rifle, three magazines, 72 rounds, one wireless set, one binocular and other incriminating material to them.
