100 mandals guilty of noise pollution during Ganesh immersion

Kolhapur, Sep 27 (UNI) About 100 Ganesh mandals were found guilty of violating the noise pollution limits during the immersion procession of Ganesh idols in the city.

Despite warning to these mandals, they had kept the volume of sound systems at high decible levels during the Ganesh idol processions that were ended yesterday, district DySP Suresh Mengde said here.

Talking to UNI today, he said cases have been registered against all the guilty mandals and they will be booked soon.

The police will initiate action against them as per the provisions of Noise Pollution (Control and Regulation) Rule, he added.
