World Bank to launch 73 million dollar project in rural Bihar

Patna, Sep 26 (UNI) A World Bank-sponsored USD 73 Million dollar 'Rural Liveli-hood Earning Project' will be launched in six districts of Bihar tomorrow.

Announcing the details of the much-awaited first World Bank scheme in the state here tomorrow, Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Rural Livelihood Promotional Committee Arvind Kumar Chaudhary today said of the total project cost, World Bank would provide 63 million USD (Rs 252 crore), while the state government would spend another seven million USD (Rs 28 crore) for the purpose as its contribution in the joint venture programme.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would inaugurate the scheme tomorrow, which would cover six districts of Gaya, Nalanda, Khagaria, Muzaffarpur, Purnea and Madhubani.

A host of other dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister-cum -state Finance Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, and several noted economists from across the country would be present on the occasion.
