Vigilance Bureau seeks permission to open lockers of Virk

Rupnagar, Sep 26 (UNI) Punjab Vigilance Bureau has moved an application in the court of Rupnagar Sessions Judge Rekha Mittal, seeking the permission for opening bank lockers of former Punjab Director General of Police S S Virk.

Virk had been arrested by the Vigilance bureau in a case of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The application would be taken up for consideration by the court tomorrow. Virk is presently under judicial custody and has been admitted in PGI Chandigarh for the treatment of his ailment.

The hearing on the bail application of Vijay Pal Singh Dimpi, a co- accused in the case, would also take place tomorrow in the court of Sessions Judge.
