VHP files case against Karunanidhi in Mumbai court

Mumbai, Sep 26 (UNI) Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today filed a case in a city court against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for deliberately hurting the sentiments of Hindus by 'insulting' Lord Ram.

VHP secretary Prof Venkatesh Abdeo said the case has been filed under IPC section 295 A and 153 A in the Borivali Metropolitan Court of Magistrate N H Mohabe.

He said the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister had questioned the existence of Lord Ram, adding ''he went a step ahead and even called Ram a drunkard''.

The case has been filed by VHP Mumbai secretary Arun Handa, he said.

The hearing of the case has been fixed for October 5.
