Protest against delay in JIPMER seat allotment

Puducherry, Sep 26 (UNI) The JIPMER Anti-conversion Peoples Action Committee would stage a demonstration in front of the Nehru Street Post Office here tomorrow, condemning the delay in allotting the increased MBBS seats to it.

In a statement here, Committee President T Murugan demanded that the JIPMER should be made a regional centre under the Director General of Health Services, instead of conferring autonomous status.

He also demanded that the Chief Minister and the MPs from Puducherry should press for their demands at the Centre and added that a committee, comprising educationists and MPs should be constituted to monitor the functioning of JIPMER .
