Lalu grants Rs 10 lakh for Community Centre in Haryana village

Panipat, Sep 26 (UNI) Keeping a promise made by him over seven months ago, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad has sent a grant of Rs ten lakh to Seewah gram panchayat in the district for construction of a community centre in the village.

The Railway Minister had made the promise when he visited Seewah a day after the bomb blasts in Samjhauta Express near the village on February 18.

He had lauded the role of the villagers for providing every help to the victims of the blasts in which 69 people, including women and children, were burnt to death.

Talking to the villagers then, the Minister had promised to fulfill their demand for financial assistance to construct a community centre in the village.

The gram panchayat has given a piece of land free of cost for the centre and railway authorities have invited tenders for construction of the community centre.
