Shimla, Sep 26 (UNI) Expressing confidence that Congress will return to power in Himachal Pradesh after the next assembly elections, incharge of the party in the state R K Dhawan today said good performance of the UPA Government at the Centre and the Congress in the state will bring it back to power.

Talking to media persons here, he said based on the performance of the UPA Government at the Centre and the Congress in the state, it would returned to power in the state assembly elections, due in February next year.

Mr Dhawan said since chief minister of a state was decided by the party high command only, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh would not be projected as its Chief Minister candidate in the next assembly elections.

As far as allotment of tickets to candidates for the forthcoming state assembly elections concerned, winability of the candidates would be the only criterion, he said.

He said since the opposition BJP had no issue against the Congress in the state, it was spreading canards and raking up issues to remain in news.

Refusing to comment on the Ram Setu issue following the withdrawal of the affidavit in the Supreme Court and Union Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni's resignation, he said he had nothing to add to what he had already said.

The Chief Minister, HPCC president Viplove Thakur, IPH Minister Kaul Singh Thakur, Power Minister Vidya Stokes and several party legislators were also present during the press conference.
