Delhi tryst with cool weather continues, mercury drops to 29.2 Deg C

New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) Delhi's tryst with pleasant weather continued for the second consecutive day today with the cool North Westerlies leading to a further drop in mercury to 29.2 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal.

On a day which also saw Delhi experiencing light rains in the early hours of the morning, the cool North Westerlies led to a further drop in maximum temperature to 29.2 degrees, from 30.7 degrees yesterday.

Earlier in the morning, as Delhiites woke up to a heavily cloudy sky, the minimum temperature also dropped to 22.8 degrees, from 25.5 degrees yesterday.

Some light rainfall was also recorded early this morning. A total of 2 mm of rainfall was recorded till 0830 hours.

The cool weather in the city is expected to stay for the next few days with the weatherman forecasting rain and thundershowers in Delhi and other parts of northwest India during the next two to three days.

The Met office has forecast a generally cloudy sky during the next 24 hours with likelihood of rain or thundershowers in some areas.
