Bitta appeals to burn Karunanidhi's effigy with Ravana

Jalandhar, Sep 26 (UNI) All India Anti-Terrorist Front President Maninderjit Singh Bitta has appealed to the people to burn Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in effigy along with that of Ravana this Dussehra, for his alleged derogatory remarks against Lord Rama.

Comparing M Karunanidhi with demon king Ravana, Mr Bitta, while talking to mediapersons here today called upon the people of the country to burn Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in effigy with the Lankan king on this Dussehra for his critical remarks against Lord Rama.

The Anti-Terrorist Front President also demanded a white paper on Ram Sethu controversy to find out the role of politicians for playing with the religious sentiments of the people.

''Politicians should not politicise religious issues as this could lead to religious terrorism,'' he said adding that public should unite against the demolition of the Ram Sethu by keeping aside their political affiliations.

Mr Bitta said he would be the first one to sacrifice his life if government tried to demolish the Ram Sethu.

He said he would file a PIL in the Supreme Court to make stringent laws against the hijacking of religious issues by the politicians so that they could not play with the religious sentiments of the people.

He also demanded an inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court judge to fix the responsibility on the peopl responsible for filing the controversial affidavit in the Supreme Court, which he said, should be completed in a month's period.

He said heads of all the religions should come together to stop this occasional sacrilege. He said he would soon meet the Shankracharayas and request them to organise five sammelans at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Lucknow and Chandigarh to mobilise people to protect Ram Sethu.
