Chennai, Sep 26 (UNI) The Opposition AIADMK today held protest demonstration in Tamil Nadu and seven other States and Union Territories, demanding the sacking of the DMK Government for Chief Minister M Karunanidhis derogatory remarks against Lord Ram.

The AIADMK volunteers, as directed by party leader J Jayalalithaa organised the slogan shouting agitation at the district headquarters of Tamil Nadu and State headquarters of Puducherry, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

In Tamil Nadu, AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa, who is resting at Kodanadu hill station, led the agitation at Udhagamandalam in Nilgiris district.

She raised slogans condemning the Chief Minister for hurting the sentiments of Hindu, by making disparaging remarks against Lord Ram, while justifying the demolition of Ram Sethu for the implementation of the Sethusamudram Shipping Channel Project(SSCP).

The Chief Minister's critical remarks against Lord Ram was a clear case of blasphemy and violative of the provisions of the Constitution. The remarks also warranted action under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), she said.

She said Mr Karunanidhi should step down for acting against the provisions of the Constitution or the Centre should sack his Government.

Party's senior leaders led the agitation in all the district headquarters in the State. The party organised similar agitations in Delhi and other southern districts, a party release here said.
