Woman brings kids to cradle scheme office for admission

Chennai, Sep 25: In a pathetic incident, a woman approached officials to admit her three children under the Government Cradle Scheme following alleged frequent torture from her alcoholic husband, in Salem District of Tamil Nadu.

Mariammal brought her three children in the age group of five to ten years to the Cradle Scheme office and urged the officials to admit them yesterday, sources said.

Taken aback, the officials said only girl infants would be admitted under the scheme and they refused to take them.

However, considering her plight, the officials assured that her children would be admitted to a Government Welfare Board Home.
