36 fishermen rescued off Diu coast by IAF copters

Junagadh, Gujarat, Sep 25 (UNI) Thirty-six fishermen were rescued early this morning from the sea off Diu coast with the help of IAF helicopters.

The fishermen belonging to villages of Diu and Una tehsil were trapped since yesterday in their boats following a cyclonic storm.

Diu collector Niraj Sham had yesterday requested the IAF to send in their helicopters urgently. However due to nightfall, the rescue operations were postponed to early morning today.
