35 injured in a clash during celebration of India's victory

Jammu, Sep 25 (UNI) Over 35 people, including six police personnel were injured in a clash between two groups during the celebration of India's victory in Twenty20 cricket world cup at Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir late night yesterday, police said today.

"A group was offering prayers , alleged that they were attacked by the group of people who were taking a rally to mark the victory of India over arch rival Pakistan" , Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu, S P Vaid told UNI over phone.

However police taken immediate action with the help of CRPF to control the situation.

Police had used lathi charge and fired some rounds to disperse the mob, IGP Vaid said adding six police personnel, including Additional SP and SHO were also injured in the incident.

Situation has come under control, the IGP said.
