Tata Indicom touches one million subscriber mark in Kolkata

Kolkata, Sep 24 (UNI) Tata Indicom has crossed one million subscriber mark in Kolkata circle since the launch of its the service in over two and a half years.

Cricketer Sourav Ganguly, also the Brand Ambassador of Tata Indicom, was present today to felicitate the company officials for this achievement.

Speaking on the new milestone, Abhijit Pal, COO, Kolkata Circle, Tata Teleservices Ltd said, ''Crossing the one million customer milestone in Kolkata has been a remarkable achievement by the Tata Indicom.'' The Tata Indicom Mobile, Walky and PCO subscribers together has helped the company cross the one million mark in the city. At present there are over 7,52,476 Mobile customers, over 2,13,329 Walky customers and over 35,371 PCO customers in the city. Tata Indicom also provides wireline services to some of the top corporate houses of the city and has 3756 customers in this segment.

''With new age handsets, attractive schemes and service are in the offing. We hope to increase our subscriber base in the city substantially in the days to come'', Mr Pal added.

Tata Indicom has already spent Rs 496 crore in Kolkata Circle till August, 2007 and will be touching Rs 600 crore by the end of March 2008.
