RSGBL increases production of Viramgam plant

Ahmedabad, Sep 24 (UNI) Riddhi Siddhi Gluco Biols (RSGBL), the largest starch and starch derivatives manufacturing company, has increased its maize grinding capacity of Viramgam plant, near here, to 82,500 tonnes per annum (TPA) from the present 33,000 TPA.

Managing Director Ganpatraj Chowdhary said that the Viramgam Unit, that has ISO-9001 certification, being closer to major ports in Gujarat, will become the export hub for the Company owing to reduced logistics cost.

RSGBL at present exports its products to Middle-East, South-East Asian countries and Japan and its export earning is poised to touch about fifty crore by 2010 in view of the increased capacity, Mr Chowdhary added.

RSGBL has two maize processing units -- one at Viramgam and the other at Gokak in Karnataka and a starch processing plant for manufacturing specially modified starches for paper industry at Pondicherry.

The Company's new unit at Pantnagar in Uttaranchal set up at an estimated cost of Rs 110 crore with maize processing capacity of 1,65,000 TPA is expected to commence operations shortly. With this the maize processing capacity of RSGBL will increase to 5,00,000 TPA at the end of this year, Mr Chowdhary informed.
