Rs 4.83 crore being spent under NREGS In Pangi Valley

Shimla, Sep 24 (UNI) A sum of Rs 4.83 crore were being spent under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) in Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of the state, joint secretary in the Rural Development Department Rajesh Sharma said today.

Presiding over a two-day long workshop on total sanitation programme at Pangi are of the district, he said ample employment avenues were being provided in the rural areas where several developmental works were in progress.

Mr Sharma said special awareness campaign had also been launched to educate the people about the total sanitation and added that PRIs and voluntary organisations had also been involved in this programme.

He urged the people of Pangi to work for total sanitation under the ongoing works carried out under NREGS in the valley.
