Rapists of Japanese tourists held in Agra

Agra, Sep 24 (UNI) Police today arrested and sent to jail the three men, accused of sexually assaulting two Japanese women in the Taj city.

Senior Superintendent of Police Naveen Arora said on September 19, two tourists -- Atsu Koki Yosim and Mikokava Kubo -- who had come to adore Taj Mahal, were lured by three men into hotel and offered drinks laced with sedatives before being raped.

The victims had lodged a complaint in Delhi after which police raided a hotel in Agra late last night. Eight persons were also nabbed in connection with the crime.

The women had disclosed a robbery gang, who dupe the tourists, was active in the Taj city. They have a connection with guides, hawkers, rikshaw-pullers, and drivers.

The accused -- Deepak, Raees and Rajan -- were identified on the basis of photographs and other evidence provided by the victims.
