Moon mission as scheduled, no hitch in technology transfer
Hyderabad, Sep 24 (UNI) Stating that India's maiden moon mission 'Chandrayaan I' will be launched as scheduled early next year, Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman G Madhavan Nair today said he did not foresee any problem in the transfer of technology by the US in the wake of the political situation prevailng at the Centre.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 58th International Astronautical Congress here, he said as per the agreement reached with the US space agency, National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA), the moon mission was progressing smoothly.
He expressed confidence that the political standoff between the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance and the Left parties would not result in the denial of the critical space technology to India by the US.
In the next few days, he would hold a review of the moon mission with his NASA and Eureopean Space Agency (ESA) counterparts and chalk out action plan to realise the mission.
