Mumbai, Sep 24 (UNI) People in Maharashtra will bid adieu to their favourite deity 'Lord Ganesh' at the end of the 11-day long festival tomorrow on the occasion of 'Anant Chaturdashi', amid a tight security blanket with the police making elaborate security arrangements.
In Mumbai, idols of all sizes of the Lord will make their way to the nearby lakes and the seashores since early afternoon. Amid chants of ''Ganpati bappa morya. Pudhchya varshi lavkar ya. Ganpati gele gavala, chain padena amhala'', Devotees will dance to the tunes of lezim to see off the lord.
The famed 'Lalbagcha Raja' will begin his journey in the afternoon. More than one lakh idols will be immersed by midnight tomorrow.
Mayor Dr Shubha Raul will undertake a aerial survey of the main venue, Girgaum chowpathy.
The city police have made elaborate arrangements to ensure that the immersion passes off peacefully. The traffic police have already given details of diversions and closure of routes during the period.
'Anant Chaturdashi' is the 14th day of the bright half of Bhadrapad month and the last day of the ganesh festival.
