Local youth enters into Limca book of records

Puducherry, Sep 24: In a bid to enter into the Limca book of records, a local youth today lifted 90 kilogram of weight using his teeth.

Mr Ilakiyadasan(19) an ITI student from Kadirgamam here performed the feat in the presence of Chief Minister N Rangasamy yesterday. The boy, who had already lifted 60 kgs and 70 kgs in his two efforts, using his teeth arranged the 90 kg weight in a rope, bite the rope with his teeth and lifted it keeping his hands behind.

The record was being forwarded to the Limca book of records for acceptance.

Lauding the efforts of Mr Ilakiyadasan, Mr Rangasamy said the administration would take all steps to encourage sports and games in the union territory.

Ozhukarai Municipal Chairman NSJ Jayapal and Puducherry Municipal Vice Chairman John Kumar, were among others, who witnessed the feat.
